Depending on where you are some options may be easier or cheaper.
1) You can send the deposit/payment to Netherlands (normally free transfer from within EU)
2) Send it to the USA (may be cheaper if you live in the US but no 10% early payment discount as the US$ seems to continue to drop)
The total cost per person is EU1000 (900 if you pay early) with 6 people attending. See table for exact amounts depening on the number of people
Some notes:
- When making a transfer, please note that transfer costs will be born by the sender.
- The EU 250 deposit is non-refundable. The maximum number of people that can come is 11 the minimum 5
- In case you pay in US$ the balance to be paid will be calculated according the current exchange rate of the Euro in India. Last year 10% of the money was lost as the $ went down and on top the costs in India went up by 10% so we had a hard time balancing the accounts.
- If you choose to bring the balance in cash please bring US$s or Euros (Big bills get a better exchange rate). If you don't want to carry that much money in cash just transfer it to my account and make sure it reaches before the end of June. This is actually what most people have done in the last years: just make one transfer and pay in full. And... if you pay before 30th May in my account in the Netherlands there is a 10% early payment discount on the deposit/payment made. Most of the time I buy Rupees in advance so if you do bring Traveller Checks, you'd have to cash them for Rupees and exchange them back to buy US/EU notes, you may lose about 5% in exchange costs.
- Telegraphic transfer can be costly, so check with me if there are others in your area joining and you can all transfer at once. As said most just pay for the whole amount at one time. To repeat all the transfer costs will be born by the sender.
- If it happens that the tour is cancelled after you have made your deposits, a full refund minus bank charges will be given. In other words, whatever is received, including deposit, will be send back. This means that I am not keeping anything, but that what you receive may have transfer costs deducted twice.
